Modeling Output

One goal of this project is to use multiregression models to calculate carbonate parameters (pH, carbonate saturation state or Ω) based on physical measurements. Such models are constructed using field collected physical and chemical data. For prediction (forecast and hindcast) purposes, circulation model generated physical data may be used to caculate the carbonate parameters that cover broader temporal and spatial scales.

Four fixed locations (Fig. 1) were picked to examine decadal changes in water column characteristics between 2007 and 2017 using the ROMS (Regional Ocean Modeling System) model (data provided by Daijiro Kobashi).

Fig. 1 Stations 1-4 used to generate the ROMS model output. Station 1 is in between the East and West Flower Garden Banks. (Station 1, Station 2, Station 3, Station 4)
